I wasn't able to get out anywhere today. So...I went into my little garden with my native Hawaiian plant collection. It has pretty flowers blooming now. Yellow Ilima, Red Ohia, Purple Pohinahina, and red hibiscus.

Spreckelsville Beach
After work today, I stopped by the beach at the Paia end of the Kahului airport. As you can see, it was a cloudy day with some vog in the air. The ocean was really clear and nice. More pictures are available at my personal site.... www.asaellison.com/pics/may28/spreckelsville_beach.html

If you are in Wailuku, and you look into Iao Valley, there is a large white cross on the ridge of the left side of the valley. I understand that if was originally placed there back in the late 1950's by the students of St. Anthony High School. There is a trail to it that starts near the split off point for the start of the road into Iao Valley. It's not a long hike by distance but it rises over 1000feet from the start point of the trail to the cross. It is an intense stair master of a hike. The entire set of images I took are available by going to http://www.asaellison.com/pics/may27/may27westmauihike.html

Wailuku Sunset
Kanaio
Today, after church, I went out with my daughter and her 2 friends for an adventure. We went around Ulupalakua and into Kanaio on Maui's south coast. Here are some pictures of some of the Native Hawaiian flowers that are there. On my personal site, I've posted a table of pictures documenting the drive out there. It's a really windy road is some areas. You can see it at www.asaellison.com/kanaio/kanaio.html
